Russell L. Bynum

President

Russell Bynum is President/Creative Director of Bynums Marketing & Communications, Inc. Along with wife Kathy, Russell leads this 38-year-old advertising and public relations agency that specializes in helping organizations reach out to youth, seniors, families, African Americans, and ethno-diverse populations.  Russell oversees branding and design work, coordinates creative services, and assists clients with crisis public relations.  Russell has helped companies across numerous industries – from banking to aviation.

With over 42 years of experience, Russell is known for infusing established companies with new, profit-generating ideas and helping new organizations emerge successfully.  He has consulted for companies such as UPMC Health Plan, Capital Blue Cross, American Eagle Outfitters and others.  Clients trust Russell to enliven their brands and provide marketing solutions.

Beyond the workplace, Russell is as Chairman of FLM-Haiti. Russell has served on numerous boards including the African American Council on the Arts, Daniel’s Den (a cancer outreach ministry) the Pittsburgh Advertising Federation, and others. Russell is the Sunday School Superintendent of Brown Chapel A.M.E. Church, and he is an ordained local deacon in the A.M.E. Church.

Kathy J. Bynum

Vice President

Kathy Bynum is Vice President of Bynums Marketing & Communications, Inc. where she is responsible for branding, marketing planning, idea development, and writing. Kathy has provided services for a variety of clients including PNC Bank, the Allegheny County Housing Authority, Johnson Controls World Services, Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, Familylinks, Cornerstone Television Network, Highmark, UPMC Health Plan, and others. She is a graduate of Duquesne University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and a concentration in Marketing.

Kathy and her husband, Russell, have led workshops including: “How to Increase Your Advertising Response,” “Marketing to the Minority Community,” “Power PR,” and “Low Cost Marketing.”

Crystal L. Bynum

Communications Consultant

As a consulting at Bynums Marketing and Communications, Inc., Crystal Bynum works with businesses looking for a strategic marketing approach that will launch or sustain company growth. She uses her sales, marketing, television broadcasting, and PR expertise to help companies make smart decisions that match their long-term goals. Beyond Crystal’s daily roles, she has been applauded for leading interactive workshops that are candid, personal, and practical.

Crystal Bynum has a degree in Communications (Broadcasting and Electronic Media) and a Master’s in Organizational Leadership from Geneva College.

Barrington Ratliff

Graphic Designer

Barrington is skilled in creating brand identities, including logo concept designs, pre-press printing, production, and print management. His skill set includes: Typography, Digital Illustration, Photography, Concept and Layout, Advertising Design, Branding, Packaging Graphics, Website Design, Communication Design, Information Graphics, Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Lightroom, and Bridge. Dr. Barry Ratliff

Community Outreach

Barry Ratliff has been providing services for Bynums Marketing & Communications, Inc. for approximately years, helping with community outreach and engagement. He has provided outreach for educational organizations, community service organizations, events, and various other projects. Barry has a master’s degree in business and is experienced in reaching the African American community, educators, and faith-based organizations.

Gwendolyn A. Ratliff

Community Outreach

Gwendolyn Ratliff is a veteran educator and has assisted Bynums Marketing & Communications, Inc. in reaching the education market through training, community engagement, health awareness and mobility. Her education includes health and fitness. She is a graduate of Lincoln University and is a health and fitness expert. She has been providing services for Bynums Marketing & Communications, Inc. for approximately eight years.
